3M names Spanish comms boss

Madrid: 3M, best known for its brands Scotch tape and Post-it stickers, has promoted Fernando Yrazusta to the role of communications director in Spain.

Yrazusta will head a three-strong marketing and communications department in Madrid, which oversees corporate communications, external and media relations, institutional relations and internal communications. Comms and PR manager Francisco Aguadero will report to him, along with an assistant, and one further executive.

Yrazusta replaces Emiliano Moreno, who left in September to become a director at Madrid's Alcala University. He (Yrazusta) was formerly one of two 3M Europe automotive business directors based in Brussels, where he oversaw sales, marketing and PR activities for four years. He will report to 3M's director general Spain, Luigi Faltoni.

The communications team will work to promote 3M as a 'diversified technological' company, according to Aguadero, seeking also to publicise brands including Post-it, Scotch-brite cleaning products, skin protector Scotchgard, and first aid products Thinsulate and Nexcare.
