Youth body plans fresh PR assault

The Russell Commission, the government body set up to develop a national framework for youth engagement, is launching a PR push this week to promote a three-month consultation on the theme.

The commission is targeting young people, as well as youth workers, businesses and voluntary groups for their views about volunteering among the young.

Comms manager Julia Clements said it would target youth consumer media such as the BBC’s Newsround, with a launch event at Chelsea FC’s ground Stamford Bridge being planned to appeal to this sector.

The results of the consultation will feed into the commission’s development of the youth framework next year. The commission is led by Scottish Power CEO Ian Russell.
