AMEC members vote for institute

Members of the Association of Media Evaluation Companies (AMEC) have backed its move to launch a specialist evaluation institute next month.

The Institute for Communication Planning, Research and Evaluation (ICPRE) will be initially composed of AMEC members’ staff.

AMEC chairman Mark Westaby, who will be launch chairman of ICPRE, said: ‘The IPR does not meet the requirements of research and evaluation professionals and there is no existing body where young PR professionals can get together.’

ICPRE will promote training in evaluation before providing its own courses.

IPR director-general Colin Farrington said ICPRE would not encroach on the IPR’s work.
