Pantone in first consumer drive

Colour matcher and developer Pantone is planning to target consumers for the first time with a lifestyle and fashion media drive to launch its ‘Pantone Fashion Colour’ report next week.

The PR push moves beyond printing and packaging trade press to incorporate interiors and design titles as the company promotes its contribution to the architecture, graphic arts and interior design industries.

US-based Pantone, which creates colour-matching systems and develops new colours, has increased its PR spend in Europe with the appointment of Hotwire PR.

The campaign will also attempt to increase the brand’s profile in national and business media, targeting stories such as Orange’s legal battle with easyMobile to use Pantone president Richard Herbert as a spokesperson on the importance of colour in branding.
