Wyllie is to join later this month in a role created specifically to target customers.
Another role, head of third-party comms, which was created during the summer to target advisers, has already been filled by Giles Kidd-May, who moved from a marketing role within the company.
Wyllie will report to joint managing director of Jupiter Unit Trust Managers Gordon Davidson and leads a two-strong team.
She will also work alongside the firm’s retained agency, Lansons Communications.
The Lansons team, which reports to Davidson and has worked with the firm for the past four years, is headed by agency chief executive Tony Langham.
Langham said Wyllie’s and Kidd-May’s roles had been created as a recognition that both areas needed a dedicated PRO.
Davidson added: ‘Our clients are demanding more informed investment commentary – Alicia will play a key role in delivering this.’
Wyllie has written for The Sunday Times, The Times and Personal Finance. She also ran now-defunct investment news site www.uk-invest.com.
