Weber Shandwick unveils batch of UK hires

Weber Shandwick this week unveiled the first set of new recruits to its healthcare team since the departure of director Glen Mursell more than three months ago.

Antoinette Dale-Henderson has joined as a director. She was formerly an associate director at Ogilvy PR Worldwide, which she left in March to go on maternity leave.

Paul Jones has joined as a European account director. He has formerly worked as head of global e-marketing and e-sales for drugs giant Novartis Pharma and as a management consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Ian McDermott has taken up a senior account executive role. He was formerly an account executive at GCI.

Meanwhile, Sally Evans, a WS stalwart of eight years, has been promoted from associate director to director within the healthcare team. Mursell left WS in June after two years with the agency (PRWeek, 18 June).

The hires follow the appointment of Sidonie Hartridge, a former Santé Communications account execu- tive who joined as a senior account executive in June.

The UK healthcare team of WS is now 14-strong.
