HR body calls in PI to monitor policy

The Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD) has hired Politics International to help it keep pace with Government employment policy.

PI will provide the institute with an extensive political monitoring service.

The CIPD wants to keep abreast of a raft of issues including paternity leave, pensions, health and safety, workplace training, the hiring of young offenders and the handling of flexible working hours.

Last year, the Government introduced a new right to request a change in working hours for parents of children aged under six, which it has committed to review in 2006.

PI won the business following a pitch against two other agencies.
