It is understood that Biss Lancaster is favourite to secure the PR contract for the brand, whose name has not yet been revealed and which is still at the product development stage.
Both Biss Lancaster and Danone Waters declined to comment on the product or PR plans.
It is understood the new brand is likely to launch as a bottled water but, according to a source, has the potential to expand into dairy spin-off products that would be marketed by Danone Dairy.
Separately, Jackie Cooper PR is known to have pitched for a contract to promote Volvic; the agency is currently awaiting news as to whether it has won the account.
Danone Waters project leader Caroline Le Guennec is co-ordinating the new brand’s development, while Corinne Chant is brand manager on Volvic.
Both declined to comment on PR plans for their brands. Cohn & Wolfe, Danone Dairy’s retained UK agency, is not involved in the review.
Cake continues to promote Evian and is not involved in the ongoing review.
Staniforth has formerly promoted Volvic in the UK but that agency ceased to promote the brand two years ago.
