Cumbria in hunt for comms chief

Cumbria County Council is on the hunt for a head of comms following Paul Inglefield’s decision to leave after 14 months in the post.

Inglefield is to join East Sussex County Council as comms and marketing manager on 11 October, where he will report to head of comms Lynn Evans. Inglefield has made the move for family reasons.

His replacement will report to Cumbria’s corporate director for strategy, performance and improvement, a new role yet to be filled. It replaces the position of deputy chief executive which has been scrapped since the departure of Mike Siegal earlier this year.

Cumbria Council has a four-strong press office, six communications staff and a recently recruited team to help the council deal with the Freedom of Information Act which comes into existence next year.
