Only one in five of adults studying in the borough last year were men.
As part of the ‘Go For It!’ campaign, an adult education supplement is being delivered to all 120,000 households with council newspaper The Review. Banners promoting the drive will line a main road until the campaign ends at the end of this month. There will also be bookmarks in libraries, and pens and postcards are being given out at carnivals.
Beer mats are being distributed through local pubs with the strapline ‘Quench your thirst for knowledge’, and ads will run in Stockport County FC’s programme.
Stockport head of marketing and communications Ian Ratcliffe said: ‘It is vital communications reflect the diversity of the community.’
