Citigate takes on Waterstone’s job

Bookstore Waterstone’s has appointed Citigate Smarts as its first Scottish PR agency after a pitch against 3x1.

The media relations remit will see Citigate Smarts utilise local themes to promote book releases.

Waterstone’s PR manager Jo Marino said the agency would develop PR campaigns feeding off ongoing Scottish Executive initiatives to raise literacy levels among children.

The HMV Group-owned retailer has 13 stores in Scotland. Marino said it would review the Scottish account again in April 2005.
