Marseilles bids to woo UK firms

French government-funded programme Euroméditerranée is to embark on a year-long campaign to attract British businesses to the southern port of Marseilles.

Trimedia Communications’s UK and French offices snapped up the account after a three-way pitch. According to Trimedia consultant and account leader Paula Cope, the campaign has already persuaded P&O and catering giant Compass to move to the city.

Euroméditerranée is part of the French government’s Invest in France initiative.

The programme is a partnership between the French government and the city of Marseilles, and was created in 1995 with the purpose of regenerating several districts within the region and opening up inward investment opportunities.
