TECH: Technology change management software firm Serena Software has appointed Noiseworks to its £100,000 PR account following a pitch against Hotwire PR. Noiseworks was the incumbent at Merant, acquired by Serena in April, and will position the merged entity as a credible rival to IBM Rational’s market leadership.

PROPERTY: London & Regional Property Fund has drafted in Luchford APM to handle PR and marketing for four lifestyle developments. It is handling trade, property and lifestyle press.

AGENCY APPOINTMENT: Former Weber Shandwick North deputy MD Steve Leigh has joined Manchester agency Citypress in a director-level role. Leigh joined WS last year (PRWeek, 8 May 2003).

MEDIA RELATIONS: Cross-Channel operator Hoverspeed has appointed Kent-based Edwards Harvey to handle PR for its Dover-Calais and Newhaven-Dieppe routes.

CONSUMER: Coalition.Total Communication has landed a PR and marcoms contract with luxury lifestyle magazine Tramp. Brand extensions are set to include a credit card, TV show and loyalty programme.

ENTERTAINMENT: Turner Broadcasting has appointed Natalie Pritchard as PR manager, responsible for central and eastern Europe, of its Cartoon Network and TMC channels. London-based Pritchard was PR manager at Earthwatch Institute Europe.

AGENCY REBRAND: Cardiff-based PR and marketing agency Howell Petersen has been renamed Freshwater UK as it looks to build a regional network. Following two recent acquisitions, it plans to acquire a further three English and Scottish agencies with fee incomes of up to £600,000 in the next year.

TRAVEL: Argo Travel has appointed Brighter PR to its trade and consumer PR account, following a four-way pitch involving incumbent Beth Cooper PR, Image Wizard and Zfl PR (PRWeek, 16 July).
