Starfish scoops Iceland PR brief

Starfish Communications has won the battle to secure food retailer Iceland’s national consumer PR account.

Starfish, which has formerly worked for rival chains Safeway and Tesco, will seek to boost Iceland’s coverage in the national media and will promote four forthcoming product ranges, with PR targeting busy mums.

PR will have a seasonal focus and will promote Iceland as ‘the only destination for convenient frozen family food’, said Starfish associate director Jo Duncan.

The London-based consumer PR shop sealed the contract after a four-way pitch and replaces Manchester agency Brazen PR, which declined to repitch.

Starfish promoted Safeway’s ‘The Best’ food range from 2000 to 2001 and promoted Tesco’s pharmacy offer from 1996 to 2000.
