Rio Tinto scooped awards for interactive media (alongside Cadbury Schweppes) and overall CSR comms strategy (jointly with BP, Vodafone and BT). GSK won the video category and Friends Provident the print category, while John Garner picked up the Local Champion Award after achieving widespread media coverage for community initiatives including the creation of safe playing areas and church renovation.
Other winners were Energy Savings Trust and Co-Op Bank (advertising and promotion), Guinness Storehouse (live events) and Haringey Council (web accessibility). while CTN, The Prince of Wales International Business Leaders Forum and Jacaranda were recognised as IVCA Champions.
‘Without proper communication, the reach and impact of many CSR initiatives is being wasted,’ said IVCA CEO Wayne Drew.
