North East Lincs in magazine deal

Cash-strapped North East Lincolnshire Council has moved to save its monthly magazine The Linc by striking a deal with local paper The Grimsby Telegraph.

The deal involves the The Linc carrying advertising from the Telegraph in exchange for having its production costs covered.

Employees at the council, which is currently cutting jobs to meet its £5m budget deficit, said it should not be produced while staff faced an uncertain future.

‘While the magazine was an excellent read there was a growing resentment that it was being produced while jobs were being cut,’ said The Linc editor Sam Higginson.
