Crisis in hidden homeless drive

Homelessness charity Crisis is launching a campaign to raise awareness about the numbers of ‘hidden homeless’ people living in shelters and squats.

It is calling on politicians and policy makers to carry out a census of the hidden homeless. In its latest report, Crisis estimates that there is an ‘invisible city’ of around 380,000 homeless people who are not acknowledged as homeless by the Government.

To illustrate the situation of the hidden homeless, it has put recordings from homeless people in a box in Trafalgar Square from which it is possible to see out, but not in.
