Pharma PR move for NYSE’s Zito

NEW YORK: Bristol-Myers Squibb has appointed a former New York Stock Exchange PRO to its top corporate affairs job.

Robert Zito, former NYSE European V-P of communications, has been appointed senior vice-president of corporate affairs at the New York-based drugs giant.

He starts on 21 July and replaces John Skule, who left in March after 15 years at the helm of the firm’s 45-strong corporate comms team.

Zito left the NYSE in May when the appointment of Margaret Tutwiler, the Bush administration’s under-secretary of state for public affairs and public diplomacy, to the NYSE PR department was unveiled (PRWeek, 7 May).

Former NYSE chairman and chief executive Richard Grasso appointed Zito as EV-P in February 2001.
