Urenco hires M to improve comms

Uranium enrichment joint venture Urenco has brought in M Communications as the company prepares for regulation and a possible stock-market listing.

M beat off three agencies for the work after a competitive pitch (PRWeek, 20 May).

Urenco is one-third owned by British Nuclear Fuels and the Dutch government, with another third owned by German power companies RWE and Eon.

The company uses gas centrifuge technology for uranium enrichment, a method that some consider to be ahead of those used by competitors Eurodif, USEC and Tenex.

M’s brief is to improve comms with the company’s stakeholders in anticipation of possible moves to regulate the industry.
