The tennis campaign is backed by player and local resident Elena Baltacha, while the cricket campaign links in with promotional work being carried out by comedian Tony Hawks in association with BBC London.
Both initiatives are targeting children during the school holidays in a bid to promote healthy lifestyles, which discourage anti-social behaviour, according to councillor Terry Neville.
Posters will appear on buses and billboards, while media relations will target local radio, TV and press.
