WPP revenues up in PR and PA arms

WPP, the international marcoms group that owns Burson-Marsteller, Hill & Knowlton and Finsbury, has posted a seven per cent increase in the revenues of its PR and public affairs divisions for the first five months of 2004.

WPP chairman Sir Martin Sorrell said that the firm’s PR and PA businesses ‘show significant improvement over the last year, continuing the turn around seen first at the end of last year’.

WPP also owns Buchanan, Cohn & Wolfe and Ogilvy Public Relations.

Revenues in WPP’s branding and identity, healthcare and specialist comms division was up 19 per cent.

WPP’s worldwide revenues increased by six per cent over the same period.
