Derbyshire push to curb drug use

Derbyshire Constabulary has launched a push to encourage people to call Crimestoppers. Called Rat on a Rat, it is aimed specifically to combat drug dealing.

The campaign, which launched this week, will run for three months and is urging anyone with information about drug dealing to call the anonymous helpline.

Activity includes a link-up with local newspaper the Evening Telegraph, which will be running regular features during the campaign. including interviews with reformed addicts as well as parent groups.

Since Crimestoppers was launched 16 years ago it is estimated that the service has led to the seizure of £60m worth of drugs UK wide.
