Poetry campaign on Cornwall buses

Cornwall County Council has launched a campaign to encourage bus travel in the area, called Poetry in Motion.

The campaign runs until the end of July and is part of a council commitment to increase bus journeys by 12 per cent from 8.9m to 9.1m within the next two years.

PR activity includes a competition for people to compose a poem about bus travel as well as encouraging requests for bus timetables.

The campaign is backed by advertising, designed by the Cammegh Davies Fleming agency. It consists of famous poetic sayings changed to include references about buses such as a version of William Shakespeare’s famous line, ‘Shall I compare thee to a… No 18 bus.’
