Iwaniuk, who quit Nike in 2002, has been appointed as head of the corporate, finance and public affairs division of WS’s offices in the Spanish capital.
Iwaniuk left Nike to study for an MBA at the Instituto de Empresa in Madrid, which she completed earlier this year.
In her new role, Iwaniuk will be part of the WS European public affairs division run by European PA director Enrique Tufet Opi, but will report to WS Madrid, Barcelona, Lisbon and Oporto CEO Miguel Lopez-Quesada Gill.
Prior to her three-year tenure at Nike, Iwaniuk spent two years as a regional communications adviser in Shell International’s public affairs team.
During this period, she managed Shell’s reputation issues in the Middle East and Asia.
Iwaniuk joined the oil giant in 1996 from Burson-Marsteller where she had been associate director of corporate comms and public affairs for three years.
She was also a previous director of communications at the Confederation of European Industries in Brussels, which she joined in 1992.
