As head of comms, he will report to Mayday’s recently appointed chief executive Vannessa Wood. He joins on 1 July.
Keeber’s first task will be to review all communications strategies. ‘Demands on NHS communications departments in recent years have gone through the roof,’ he said.
‘Wood is keen to invest in comms and one of my first tasks will be to review where we are with external and media relations and internal comms,’ he added.
Keeber will take over the management of a department of two comms managers – Paula Eason, who oversees external comms, and Natalie Hyde, whose brief covers internal comms.
Mayday will be opening a new, purpose-built wing of 306 beds later this year.
