Tesco ranks top with MPs/NGOs

Tesco has been rated as the most effective communicator among the top 50 FTSE companies by MPs and NGOs, according to a BPRI report.

‘Should Business Care’ found several consistencies between politicians’ and NGOs’ experiences, with BT, Vodafone, BSkyB and BP featuring in the top ten for both groups.

Wolseley, Imperial Tobacco, WPP, SABMiller and Centrica were poor communicators, according to MPs and NGOs. BAE Systems came sixth among MPs, but was listed as the third-worst communicator by NGOs.

BPRI head of marketing Debbie Senior said several firms from ‘controversial’ industries, such as mining, tobacco and pharmaceuticals, scored poorly because they provided limited comms.
