Radicom to push fleet vehicle line

Radicom has identified the trade press for industries that use fleets of vehicles – such as plumbing, waste management and councils – as targets of a PR campaign for its GPRS real-time tracking system.

Radicom has appointed Storm Communications to implement a £40,000 media relations campaign that Storm director Derek Lowe said will be of most interest to government and councils, which use a combined 3.6 million vehicles.

The Radicom technology feeds tracking data into accounting and time-management software, allowing firms to direct drivers efficiently, and verifies locations – something Lowe said was important for the public sector, as it makes a large number of insurance claims.

Radicom is also exploring uses such as tagging criminals, which could attract broader media attention.
