Voluntary Sector: Child health body looks for top PRO

The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health is on the hunt for a head of press and parliamentary affairs to bolster the reputation of child protection paediatricians.

The college created the role after recent high-profile cases over evaluations of child abuse led to a drop in the numbers of doctors willing to take on the responsibility of such assessments.

Other issues on which the college intends to campaign include MMR jabs and childhood obesity.

The role includes overall responsibility for external media relations and co-ordinating parliamentary work.
