Voluntary Sector: Show arena for farmers cause

International development agency Christian Aid is mounting a media relations campaign to promote the opening of its show garden at the Royal Horticultural Society's Hampton Court Palace Flower Show in July.

The garden will feature a range of crops grown in Senegal to raise awareness about how 'unfair trade rules' force farmers out of business because local produce cannot compete with subsidised Western imports.

The charity hopes to attract coverage from the BBC, gardening press and national newspapers.
