Havas restructures comms arm before Gilham exit

PARIS: Havas has reorganised its group comms division in anticipation of the departure of V-P of corporate comms Simon Gilham.

Gilham’s role has been scrapped with external relations responsibilities passing to Euro RSCG Worldwide group comms director Peggy Nahmany. She is returning to her native France to take up the new role of director of external relations at Havas’s Paris HQ.

Gilham is leaving the division to set up PR consultancy Havas 07 within the group.

Nahmany said she would be responsible for co-ordinating media relations with B2B and specialist financial press across the divisions and would report to Havas chief communications officer Alain Cayzac.

Internal comms will be the responsibility of three PROs in a new publications, multimedia and internal comms division, alongside investor relations and public relations and events divisions.

Nahmany has worked within the Havas group for 13 years, starting in 1992 as international media co-ordinator at Eurocom, Euro RSCG’s predecessor, and working as a press officer before moving to New York to take the post of comms manager in 1997.

Her role at Euro RSCG has been taken up by J Walter Thompson corporate comms V-P Owen Dougherty.
