Four-year incumbent Insight Marketing and Communications is repitching for the media and corporate relations brief.
The account up for review includes promoting Cisco’s products and services throughout the UK and will involve working closely with the tech firm’s in-house EMEA corporate team and its agency Band & Brown Communications.
Cisco’s competitors include Nortel Networks, Extreme Networks and Juniper Networks.
During the 1990s, Cisco’s shares rose 100 per cent per year for ten years, but fell to one tenth of their peak value after the tech sector downturn in 2001. It is promising a strong comeback and reported a profit rise of almost 26 per cent in May.
‘We have compiled a shortlist and will announce who has won the pitch by the end of this month,’ said Cisco Systems director of marketing and business development David Critchley.
In May, Cisco unveiled its new high-end internet router, which enables telecoms carriers and internet service providers to send traffic across the internet more quickly.
