A Vueling marketing executive said RYA was chosen in a competitive pitch but would not disclose the other agencies involved. According to the spokesman, the agency will handle media relations, reporting to marketing director Victor Ganares.
With its hub based at Barcelona's El Pratt Airport, Vueling will fly to Brussels, Paris, Majorca and Ibiza, with an initial promotional price of 10 Euros per one-way ticket.
Despite the low rollout prices, the airline is not promoting itself as a discount carrier, but wants to position itself as 'cool and modern', and offering a different flight experience. According to Ana Domenech, who oversees Vueling's advertising account at Spanish ad shop S.C.P.F., 'we want to get rid of the negative flight stereotypes of today and sell ourselves as an airline that provides a different and very pleasant flight experience.'
