Lexicon fights vitamin lead slur
PASADENA, CA: Children’s vitamin maker Northwest Natural Products has drafted in external PR support to allay consumer fears over what watchdog group ConsumerLabs.com has alleged is a dangerous amount of lead in its Gummy Vites line.
NWP has hired crisis management agency Lexicon Communications to make public independent lab reports that found no lead in the product, said agency president Steven Fink.
‘From a PR point of view, [Consumerlabs.com has launched] an orchestrated attack solely for its own enrichment,’ he said, adding that he had provided news organisations with ‘demonstrable proof’ the products are safe.
