Diary: PROs don khaki for volunteer forces

A Golley Slater PRO showed his support for the guys and gals in the forces when he ditched his suit for two days of mud, sweat and khaki.

Account executive Alexander Ehmann even persuaded clients from Cala Homes and Lloyds TSB Commercial Finance to sign up to the event, designed to promote the Volunteer Reserve Forces to businesses.

The gruelling two days saw the desk-oriented suited and booted hordes swinging commando style on cables through the Surrey countryside while being chased by paras and simulated gunfire.

The weekend's highlight must have been the simulated burning building.

PROs were forced to enter it and crawl through narrow tunnels in the pitch black to the top, before taking a 'death slide' back to ground level.

One wonders if these PROs are planning on turning up in Iraq.
