Revolver sells up to Propaganda

Consumer PR shop Revolver Communications has been bought by Leeds-based marketing agency Propaganda for a ‘six-figure’ cash sum.

The deal sees Propaganda take 90 per cent of Revolver’s shares, with the London agency’s founder and joint MD Martin Ballantine retaining ten per cent and becoming MD/creative director.

Propaganda, a 45-strong outfit founded in 1993, has clients such as Heinz, kitchen manufacturer Symphony and hair product brand ghd.

The agency, which projects a fee income for this year of £4.8m, has a four-strong consumer PR team and three corporate PROs.

Revolver, which has clients such as Ben & Jerry’s, Yahoo! and Stolichnaya, was founded in 1993 and has 14 staff. Its other joint MD, Simon Hesketh, becomes senior planner.
