He replaces Mary Beth Bardin, who is leaving for personal reasons. Tauke joined Verizon in 1991 as V-P of government relations.
Tauke will oversee all internal and external communications, reputation and issues management, and philanthropy.
He will also serve on Verizon’s corporate leadership council and will continue to oversee Verizon’s public policy and external affairs divisions.
‘I want to create a process that will allow us to manage and advocate on issues important to Verizon,’ said Tauke.
