French PM brings in Bonnemain

PARIS: French prime minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin has appointed Francois Bonnemain as his principal comms adviser.

Bonnemain replaces Dominique Ambiel, who resigned after he was charged on 20 April for ‘soliciting, accepting or obtaining… sexual relations with a minor who is engaged in prostitution’, according to court officials.

Ambiel, who is due to appear before the Tribunal de Paris on 7 June, denies the charges (PRWeek, 30 April).

Bonnemain is a former journalist, who began his career at daily newspaper France Soir.
