Leonard Cheshire internal PR drive

Disability support charity Leonard Cheshire is rolling out an internal comms strategy as it begins its third annual fundraising week with a PR campaign in national and regional media.

The organisation aims to improve its internal comms structure by offering training to regional managers, clarifying how its intranet can play a more significant role in the lives of its staff and highlighting how employees can help to develop the charity’s external policy on disability law through consultation with the disabled.

It plans to establish firmer measures for feedback and employee satisfaction through a staff survey and to provide employees with an improved framework for communicating with disabled people.

The move comes as the charity publicises its ‘One Walk’ fundraising initiative to the specialist charity press and the news and health sections of national broadcast and print media.

Chris Moon, who lost an arm and a leg in a landmine explosion, will walk 25 miles to raise £1m for the charity.
