Dircom votes for new management online The Association of Communciations Directors of Argentina (Dircom) has appointed a new committee following an email vote. Votes from 70 members of the organisation were taken by email, and the distribution of tasks was agreed by the number of votes for each person. Marcela Goldin will replace Miguel Ritter as chairman. The first vice chairman is Orlando Di Pino (Metrogas), second vice chairman Diego Segura (Aguas Argentinas) and secretary Raul Gatica (Marck, Sharp & Dohme).

CSR should focus on education, according to survey

Argentine people think companies should focus their CSR efforts on education rather than food, signalling that the worst of the crisis in the country is over. According to a national survey carried out by Ipsos Mora y Araujo for Imagen magazine, 47 per cent of respondents said they would prefer companies to direct their resources towards education, double the figure from the previous year. The last survey was taken in February 2003, in the middle of economic crisis, when 48% said that companies should dedicated their social assistance to food aid.

New consultancy

Two ex-directors of agency Muchnik, Alurralde, Jasper have launched a new agency Tres Consultores, specialising in market research and communications. The new consultancy will be managed by researcher Carolina Yellati, along with Diegoi Marquis and Paulina Andres, both formerly of M,A, J.
