Bacta hires BPPA for gambling bill

The British Amusement Catering Trade Association (Bacta) has called in Bell Pottinger Public Affairs for strategic advice as the Government prepares to publish its response to the Draft Gambling Bill.

Bacta represents the interests of Britain’s ‘pay-to-play leisure industry’.

‘We need serious help to see us through the Bill, which will have a real impact on our members,’ said Bacta group CEO Roger Hayes, who made the appointment and is just a month into his role.

The Government is expected to respond next month to a parliamentary scrutiny committee report calling for the liberalisation of gaming laws to demonstrate a commitment to social responsibility.

The account is being led by BPPA managing director Peter Bingle.
