A spokeswoman for the travel operator said it had opted to channel its lobbying activity through industry groups such as the Charter Airline Group of the UK (CAGUK), thus ending the need for an external PA adviser.
She added that TCG’s other service of providing political monitoring was now carried out over the internet.
CAGUK represents First Choice’s charter airline Air 2000 on issues such as airport security and air traffic.
The company’s head of industry affairs Simon Buck oversees its PA remit.
It hired Lesley Allan as director of corporate affairs in January from Hudson Sandler, the agency where she helped manage its relations with the City for ten years.
First Choice operates brands including Unijet, Sovereign, First Choice Ski and Longshot Golf Holidays. It has an extensive high street retail presence comprising 650 travel shops.
