Creamery drive for soft cheese

Dairy Farmers of Britain’s Lubborn Creamery has kicked off a campaign to argue that the provenance of quality soft cheese is shifting to Somerset.

Phipps PR, appointed as the creamery’s first external agency, won the £30,000 account after a pitch against Harrison Cowley and Food Matters.

It will target food titles, Sunday supplements and women’s press to challenge the view that France produces the best soft cheeses.

It will use sampling of its cheeses, including Somerset Brie, as well as research to spark media attention.

Lubborn Creamery was opened by Prince Charles last July, but is running at 60 per cent capacity.
