Hepburn and Haggie set up ‘full service’ agency

Former College Hill corporate partner Ron Hepburn has resurfaced with a new joint venture agency.

Hepburn, Haggie Group founder David Haggie and partner Peter Rigby are to launch Haggie Hepburn, a campaign agency offering PR services from research and planning to conferences and event management.

Hepburn said that he had set up the agency with the Haggie Group to provide a full-service offering to company chief executives, ensuring consistency in marketing and PR campaigns.

He said that media relations would be at the core of the campaigns run by Haggie Hepburn.

But the agency would try to provide a full service by exploring other areas that might influence the public, added Hepburn.

The new firm has also taken on board Hepburn’s colleague, account director Juliet Tilley, and former Financial Times journalist Heather Farmbrough. Hepburn will be the firm’s managing partner.

Beyond its three core staff, Haggie Hepburn will have six specialist teams from within the Haggie Group covering planning, market research, brand consultancy, publishing, conferences and web strategy.

Haggie Hepburn is expected to be able to call on ten staff in total.

The new business will be the third limited liability partnership within the Haggie Group, which also includes financial services specialist Haggie Financial and graphic design agency Simplifydesign.

Hepburn said the firm would hope to gain clients initially from the employment, financial services, professional services, property, public sectors, and the sport and tourism industries.

Hepburn left College Hill at the beginning of April after six years with the firm. His biggest retained clients during this time included Adecco, Manpower, Wilson Connolly, South African Tourism and the British Chamber of Commerce. He has also advised pool-betting group The Tote (PRWeek, 7 February 2003).

Prior to that, Hepburn was head of comms at the London arm of Japanese securities house Yamaichi International from 1987 before joining College Hill in October 1997 (PRWeek, 31 October 1997).

Haggie Hepburn will launch officially on1 June.
