PAGB hires Spink’s Pace to manage comms

The Proprietary Association of Great Britain (PAGB), the trade association for OTC medicines and food supplement firms, has appointed Spink Consumer Relations associate director Kirstie Pace as media and PR manager.

Pace, who takes charge of the PAGB’s comms initiatives, including trade and professional relations and consumer information campaigns, reports to commercial and communications director Mike Owen.

She has replaced former senior comms manager Dr Diane MacArthur, who is now a brand comms manager at drugs giant AstraZeneca, in a four-strong PR unit.

The PAGB continues to retain Nexus Communications.

Spink, meanwhile, has appointed Simon Hackett and Clare Baker as account managers.

Hackett, who will join next month, was formerly an account manager in Edelman’s consumer marketing and healthcare division. He left in July 2002 to work in property marketing in Spain.

Baker has already joined the agency. She has formerly been a director at Astrid Sutton Associates.

Hackett and Baker will work on accounts including Johnson & Johnson MSD’s dandruff treatment Nizoral.
