JCPR’s Withington takes Firefly role

Former Jackie Cooper board director Ian Withington has resurfaced at Firefly Communications as an associate director with a brief to launch a consumer brands arm at the tech PR agency.

Withington was at JCPR for nine years, and was a board director at the firm just acquired by Edelman. He left at the beginning of February due to illness and has spent the interim period travelling.

At JCPR, Withington worked for a number of its biggest clients, including the launch of Coca-Cola energy drink Burn (PRWeek, 27 October 2000) and the promotion of the link between Allied Domecq’s Malibu rum and pop star Shaggy (PRWeek, 16 January). He also ran JCPR’s £1m consumer PR account with O2.
