Urenco shortlists four PR agencies

Uranium processing company Urenco is preparing a communications onslaught to stave off possible government moves to regulate the industry – and is staging a pitch for external PR agency support.

A company spokesman said the company had shortlisted four agencies for the task, which involves advising on how to deliver the message that Urenco’s work could be beneficial to the environment.

The successful agency will report to Urenco director of corporate affairs Dr Pat Upson.

Urenco was originally set up in 1971 and develops the centrifuge process of uranium enrichment.

German energy company RWE, British Nuclear Fuels and the Dutch government each own a one-third stake in Urenco.
