Lansons secures Virgin value job

Virgin Mobile has appointed Lansons Communications to target print and broadcast consumer affairs journalists to stress the value for money that the mobile phone company claims it offers.

Lansons has been handed a retainer for the £100,000 PR spend, replacing Consolidated Communications. The appointment comes hot on the heels of Henry’s House’s appointment to Virgin Mobile’s main £500,000 brand and sponsorship PR account (PRWeek, 14 May).

‘Consumers have become more aware of issues such as cost and value, as with any developed consumer market,’ said Lansons chief executive Tony Langham.

The account will be run by Langham and associate director Shellie Wells. Consolidated retains responsibility for Virgin Mobile’s public affairs account.
