Bentham, who joined Chiron this week in the newly created post of policy and corporate affairs manager, UK and Ireland, leaves LLM after six years.
Her new role sits within Chiron’s vaccines division, one of three business areas covered by the infectious diseases and cancer specialist, the others being blood testing and bio-pharmaceuticals.
The firm has the world’s fifth-largest vaccine business offering more than 30 novel and conventional vaccines for adults and children. Its two leading brands in that division include influenza vaccine Fluvirin, and the conjugated vaccine against meningococcal C infection, Menjugate.
Bentham said her brief is to support the firm’s commercial objectives as well as building relationships and profile with Government, parliament and the public policy world. ‘With increasing infectious diseases, there are enormous challenges ahead, and it’s important that government, health organisations and industry work together,’ she said.
She will report to Chiron UK and Ireland director of operations Humphrey Harte.
