The association’s 200 council members are unhappy with Royal Mail’s service. ‘You need to give [Royal Mail] months of notice if you want it to distribute anything; its boundaries don’t match [those of] councils, so you can’t target people,’ said LG Comms secretary and treasurer Kevin Wilson.
Royal Mail national sales manager Tim Cable and representatives from 15 councils will attend the meeting on 26 May at The Media Centre in Holborn, London.
The aim is to hammer out a selection of services Royal Mail can offer councils ahead of a September gathering to gauge council reaction.
