MediTech Media retained the top spot, with fee income growth of 19 per cent from £6.7m in 2002 to £8.05m in 2003. Second-placed Munro & Forster Communications boosted its healthcare fee income by 16 per cent to £3.4m. But Edelman, in third place, dropped 32 per cent to £2.7m.
Ethical and pharma communications remained the biggest earner for the sector, generating more than £14m, accounting for almost 44 per cent of overall fee income.
The Sarbanes-Oxley Act prevented companies owned by Omnicom, Interpublic, WPP, Grey, Havas and Publicis from entering.
